Your home air conditioning system serves you many more hours than your car, and, like your car needs routine maintenance to operate in an efficient, safe and reliable manner.
Our unique performance check includes everything that can possibly be done in order to restore your air conditioning system to its very best condition. No other local air conditioning company performs a comparable performance check. In fact, it often takes over an hour to perform the work!

For air conditioning equipment to run efficiently two measurments are critical.  There must be proper air flow across the indoor coil and the unit must have the proper refrigerant charge.

To start off with air flow, you need three measurements of temperature the dry bulb entering air and wet bulb entering air (these measurements account not only for the temperature of the air entering your unit, but also for the relative humidity).  Add the leaving air temperature and you are done.  We plot the first two measurements on a design air flow chart and determine what the temperature difference across the coil should be.

Once you have proved sufficient air flow, now you can determine proper refrigerant charge.  Take the measurments the manufacturer requires and plot then on their chart.  Your numbers should be in the ball park.

If anyone would like a sample performance check report - just email me

Re: All About Air Conditioning

HVAC Hygienist - Back in the 90's when IAQ was just coming into its own, there was a certification course for a HVAC Hygienist focused on the central air system and the roll it plays in indoor air quality. In high humid climates, when your A/C is running, it is wet and can be a source for mold issues. The course was designed to address those issues and prevent mold growth and spreading mold spores throughout the house

Re: All About Air Conditioning

I never considered that my home AC's is a lot more important than my car's. I try to keep my car maintained every two months, but I never get my home AC checked. Thank you for the reminder to have that done. I will start looking around in my area for a professional.
